Toast Almost Ready to Pop, Cupola Brings Pizza to S.F.'s Last Pizza-Free Block

Categories: Buzz Machine
The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Grub Street has been chasing this one down for a few days: The Lark Creek Restaurant Group's new restaurant on the fourth floor of the Westfield San Francisco Centre (the old Zazil space, next to LarkCreekSteak) is going to be called Cupola. The pitch: wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. No, we are not kidding. No, we will not be writing about it either.

According to Inside Scoop, Liberty Cafe in Bernal Heights is expanding its wine-bar nights to Tuesdays-Sundays and introducing a special menu to boot.

Tablehopper IDs another new barbecue truck: Smoke (Twitter: @smokebbqsf) is parking on weekdays in the Bayview ― 1439 Davidson (at Evans). The pitch: Kansas City-style barbecue with all the familiar sides.

Tablehopper writes that she's also pretty sure the new branch of Toast at Pine Polk and Sacramento will open this week. SFoodie passed the restaurant yesterday and did a little first-person rubbernecking ― the paper was off the windows, the room looked great, and no one was inside.
