Puerto Alegre's Not, in Fact, Expanding, But Small Potatoes Will Be

​The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

We lead with a correction from the Feast: Apparently, Puerto Alegre is not moving into Bombay Ice Creamery. So if you want that space, it's yours.

Thrillist reports on the opening of Kasumi (2608 Ocean, Facebook page), a Lakeside spot the Shabu House owners opened in mid-December. The pitch: ramen at lunch, grilled skewers in the evening.

According to Eater, Small Potatoes is changing up its retail operations. The catering company has closed Sweet, its teensy pastry shop on Church, and will instead open up a lunch operation out of its headquarters, at 35 Sixth Street, sometime this spring. The pitch: local, seasonal, etc.
