The rundown: The closure of Poleng Lounge last year was a bummer for all kinds of reasons, not least of which that the mod-Filipino food movement it'd become a locus of was on the verge of finding voice. Relive the magic this Saturday at The Summit, where Poleng chef Tim Luym will offer a tribute dinner to the dream that died. The Summit, of course, is the Valencia Street café launched post-Poleng by Desi Danganan, who'd originally intended the place to be a spinoff called Casa Poleng. Luym will be given an assist from Summit chef (and Poleng alum) Eddie Lau. Talk endlessly about what could have been at the afterparty following.
