Commonwealth Club Takes Another Bite of Street Food
Venerable public affairs forum The Commonwealth Club is revisiting the topic of street food after its tremendous growth over the past year. Moderator Matt Cohen has been the catalyst for much of that via his Off the Grid mobile food events; he'll provide an overview of the current scene and its economies above and below ground, with the help of Shakirah Simley (Slow Jams), Iso Rabins (forageSF), and Margarita Rojas (La Cocina). After the talk, audience and panelists will hightail it down the street to 111 Minna for an after-party featuring sampling and food for sale from local carts.![]()

This program follows up the 2009 Commonwealth Club panel The Street Food Movement: SF Hearts the Cart, which SFoodie moderated; listen to audio from that discussion and check out a nice recap of the panel and after-party.
