Via Tablehopper comes news of the opening of Quattro Stagioni (318 Kearny, at Belden Lane, 956-4056), from the owners of Cafe Tiramisu and Brindisi. The pitch: Italian-style pizza. Inside Scoop is first to post that Nombe closing for the first two weeks in January. The downtime allows the owners to do a little renovation and let incoming chef Vincent Schofield travel around Japan, eating and cooking. Projected reopening date: Jan. 14. Let's hope the man has recovered from his jet lag by then.
Lastly, two more bits from Tablehopper:
• LOL Cafe (6050 Geary, 592-8918) has opened in the Outer Richmond. The pitch: cafe with vegetarian sandwiches. Let loose the acronyms!
