Twirl and Dip to Serve Frozen Treats in City Parks Six Days a Week
Other local mobile food vendors might get more media attention, but Twirl and Dip has just quietly put a lock on two major stops for six days a week in the city. The haute ice cream truck has signed a contract with San Francisco Recreation and Parks to serve frozen treats at Marina Green (near Scott Street) and in front of Golden Gate Park's rec field (between Seventh and Ninth Avenues) from noon to dusk (and after March, till 7 p.m.). The new schedule kicks off Jan. 15 at Marina Green; find the truck there on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and at GGP on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. And don't come looking for Good Humor bars; instead expect lush fruitsicles, thick shakes, soft serve, and sundaes in creative flavors.
