Big Nose Goes to Mexico, a Maya Flamer

We needed a little heat in our life this week, so we went for Maya's splendiforously named Big Nose Goes to Mexico, a cocktail blending two tequilas (Cabrito Blanco and Jimador Reposado) with dark rum, guava, and orgeat, served with a flaming, wildly inverted lemon half. Fiery drinks can be cloying (even for an avowed sugar fiend), but we were pleasantly surprised by the reserve this drink managed to show. And that's taking into account the wallop of tequilas and the shall we say not-subtle presentation.

Maya: 303 Second St. (at Harrison).
