House of Shields and Daddy O's of SOMA Finally Open
![]() |
LiveSOMA, who's been staking out the place for months, reports that Daddy O's Southern Homestyle Kitchen (294 Ninth St.) is finally open for breakfast and lunch, six days a week. The pitch: SFoodie suspects that the name of the restaurant says it all.
Eater SF reports that the building that once was called no-name sushi (314 Church), but has been under construction for years, now has a sign with no name. Speculation ensues! SFoodie also learned from the post that no-name was not, indeed, anonymous: Yokoso. Now we are afflicted with an anticlimactic malaise, but that may be because a soft-rock earworm is now tunneling itself into our brain.
Inside Scoop also notes two closures:
- Digs Bistro, the underground restaurant that went legit in Berkeley for three years, is closing.
- For a spell, there was a comedy club in the AMC Van Ness named Holly's. Now it is gone. Was it real life? Was it a fantasy? Will SFoodie wake up one day and find we were a comedy club dreaming about being a food blog?
