A Bigger Brenda's Expected Soon, Cafe Divis Becomes a Wine Bar
![]() |
Tablehopper reports that Brenda's French Soul Food will move into its next-door expansion (much bigger kitchen, a few more seats) later this week. The original site will be closed for about a month while they renovate it. Once the two sides are joined, the seating will almost be tripled. Does this means the horrific lines will disappear?
Tablehopper also writes that the newish owners of Cafe Divis (359 Divisadero), which hasn't even put up a sign, are either converting it into a wine bar named Vinyl or simply running one in the evenings. In charge will be Kris Esqueda (Markris Wines), Mark Bright (Saison, Decantr), and Nabil Musleh (who will be providing the music). The pitch: Simple food and "domestic, urban" wines. SFoodie hopes more explanation will be forthcoming.
