Planning Commission Approves New Rules for Street-Food Vendors on Private Property

​The San Francisco Planning Commission yesterday approved unanimously Supervisor Bevan Dufty's legislation for new street-food rules for vendors on private property, with one slight change. The proposed ordinance ― which streamlines the permitting process for would-be truck and pushcart vendors ― originally applied to food trucks of up to 225 square feet. But after the owner of the Le Truc bustaurant voiced an objection, Commissioners upped the maximum size limit to 300 square feet.

On Monday, the City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee holds a public hearing on the part of the legislation covering food vendors on streets and sidewalks. That meeting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Room 250 in City Hall. If approved, both proposals will go before the Board of Supervisors.
