Patxi's Comes to Noe Valley, The Counter Goes to San Mateo

In the week building up to Thanksgiving Day, the openings are dribbling in. Just a few:
According to Eater SF (who plucked the info from Noe Valley SF), the Noe Valley branch of Patxi's Pizza (4042 24th St., 285-2000, patxispizza.com) opened yesterday.
Down in San Mateo, Eater and Grub Street both note the arrival of The Counter: Custom Built Burgers (41 West Hillsdale Blvd., thecounterburger.com). The pitch: Mel's Diner meets Build-a-Bear workshop, or more like a moderately priced Burger Bar. SFoodie has been to Seattle's branch of this growing national chain, and we'd say the burgers are all right.
