The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Locanda da Eva in Berkeley shut down for the long weekend to redecorate, and Carolyn A. of Eater SF posts pics of the new look. SFoodie says: niiiiiiice.

San Francisco gossip was apparently slim yesterday, but there was a host of out-of-town news:
  • Per Inside Scoop: Sakoon, the tony Indian restaurant in Mountain View, has a new chef named Alex Xalxo, who was brought west from New York.
  • Meanwhile, reports Grub Street, former Sakoon chef Sachin Chopra is just about to open his new San Mateo restaurant, All Spice. The pitch: Indian-European cooking.
  • Via Eater SF, we learned that Whole Foods Blossom Hill (San Jose) opened, while the Chron reports that the opening of Whole Foods Castro is looking stalled.
  • Another Eater find: L'appart Resto in San Anselmo is on the market. Count your pennies: It's only $250K.
