The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Eater SF's Carolyn A. reports that Oakland's popular Le Cheval closed on Friday after being evicted. The owner is maintaining his Berkeley and Walnut Creek branches, and his son is opening up LCX (1019 Clay) just down the street. The pitch: A smaller wine bar with Le Cheval food (and cooks).

Inside Scoop's Paolo L. reported previously on the opening of an Egyptian (well, sort of) pizza place named Crave City (2015 Chestnut, 409-2009). The pitch: wings, Italian pizzas, meat skewers cooked in a clay oven, and naan wraps, as well as savory and sweet feteers, or filled pastries.

Did Citizen Cake (2125 Fillmore, 861-2228, citizencake.com) really open on Saturday, as Eater and Inside Scoop promised? SFoodie has been hesitant to publicize the reopening of Elizabeth Falkner's new (old) restaurant, since its opening date has changed hourly. But both the website and the Facebook page confirm: It's open. The pitch: more casual than the last version.

According to Mission Loc@l, Bombay Bazaar, which the health department shut down two weeks ago, is closing for good.
