Arizmendi Bakery officially opened its doors for full business at 7 a.m. today; no more
freebie cheese rolls for you. A worker/co-owner at the
collectively owned bakery emporium joked to SFoodie "we're early birds," while overseeing the pastries and coffee drink orders. There are two tables set up for dining, and the space is light-filled, clean, and busy on the first day.

Standard greeting for guests is usually, "Hello, welcome to Arizmendi. How may I help you?" Guests seemed to know the drill of how to select and serve themselves the assorted scones, muffins and rolls. Large coffee and a millet muffin will run you four bucks.
