Meatpaper
Meatpaper, our favorite carnivorous quarterly, is launching a little sister called Sandwich, a special issue dedicated to looking at sammies across the globe. The journal will throw her and editor Marissa Guggiana a party; Guggiana is also celebrating the release of her book Primal Cuts: Cooking With America's Best Butchers. Expect sips, meats, and sweets from the likes of St. George Spirits, Avedano's, Tomales Bay Oyster Company, and pastry chef Tim Nugent of Scala's Bistro.

Meat & Greet
When: Mon., Nov. 1, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Café Rouge (1782 Fourth St. at Hearst, Berkeley)
Cost: $35
Tickets: Purchase online.
