Heart's Halloween Party Promises to Let You Hide
If Heart has a brand, it's iconoclasm. No surprise, then, that the Mission wine bar is framing it's night party on Oct. 31 as the anti-Halloween. We're not exactly sure what that means, except that, crispy and hungover, your slutty Meg Whitman or sexy Michael Pollan costume all pit-stained and smoke-sour from Saturday night, come Sunday you might want to hide. Hence Heart's sexy speakeasy, Prohibition-era theme for the event dubbed Flesh and the Devil (you'll need the password to get in), with the press-release promise of being able to "lurk in the shadows while classic horror films illuminate the walls." Of course, get a few glasses of wine, snorts of "moonshine," and "'hair of the dog' shots' in you, and chances are you'll be stripping down impromptu to some flabby-torso'd simulacrum of The Sitch for the costume contest. There'll be food, too, bites from house caterer Kitchenette, priced a la carte. The menu hasn't been announced, but we hear there are plans for tongue - just what you'll need to scare off a hangover.![]()
