Harold McGee Talks Food Science at Omnivore
Seeing him wax poetic on TV about fat-on-fat with Anthony Bourdain is but a taste of author Harold McGee's knowledge. At an upcoming Q&A session, you can ask the master of food science lingering questions about the "why" of cooking. McGee is headed to Omnivore Books next Tuesday to discuss his latest book, Keys to Good Cooking: A Guide to Making the Best of Foods and Recipes (The Penguin Press, $35). ![]()

Omnivore dishes the book some high praise: "Of astounding scholarship and originality, Keys to Good Cooking directly addresses the cook at work in the kitchen and in need of quick and reliable guidance." By the way, McGee lives in San Francisco. We can't help but wonder if he'll stroll to Incanto for dinner after the signing, for more fat-on-fat action.
