Emeryville Street-Food Task Force To Meet Next Week
The task force looking into Emeryville's mobile vending ordinance will meet next week, says Police Chief Ken James, the advisory body's secretary, tells SFoodie. The 13-member task force convenes next Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 5:30 p.m. in city offices at 1333 Park (at Hollis), to discuss changes to the East Bay city's 22-year-old mobile vending ordinance. The task force meeting is open to the public.

Two weeks ago, the City Council ― responding to complaints by restaurant owners and the Emeryville Chamber of Commerce ― named a body culled from both brick and mortars and food trucks. Task force members include two City Council members (Ken Bukowski and Nora Davis), four mobile vendors (Walker Bass of Primo's Parrilla, Jon Kosorek of Jon's Street Eats, Gail Lillian of Liba Falafel, and Shari Washburn of Ebbet's Good To Go) and five restaurant owners: Anil Bhagat, vice manager of the Bay Street Shopping Center; Patrick Feehan of Café Aquarius; Doyle Street Café's George Masarweh; Albert Repola of Ruby's Café; and Jonas Bernstein of Rotten City Pizza.
