The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the
San Francisco restaurant scene.
Urban Daddy earns linking rights for announcing the Saturday opening of
Twenty-Five Lusk (25 Lusk at Townsend, 495-5875,
www.twentyfivelusk.com). The takeaway: two levels, lounge + restaurant, hanging fireplaces, short ribs. There is, we're sure, more to the story.
Marcia G., aka Tablehopper, has some more details on
Poquito (2368 Third St., 643-3900), the Dogpatch tapas bar whose existence emerged last week. The pitch: owner Richard Vila's heritage is Spanish-Ecuadorian, and he's going pan-Latino on his menu, with arepas, llapingachos, jicama-wrapped "tacos," Cuban sandwiches, and shrimp ceviche.
The news became public a few months ago, but the exact date has been set and
Tablehopper's reporting it: Ruggero Gadaldi's
Antica Trattoria (2400 Polk, 928-5797) is closing Saturday, Oct. 16, and celebrating with a "thousand thanks" celebration on Sunday.
