Tomorrow: Hukilau's Ninth Annual Poke Festival
Fans of Hawaiian cuisine won't want to miss tomorrow's Ninth Annual Hukilau Poke Festival and Spam Musubi Eating Contest. The popular neighborhood block party features live Hawaiian music, a poke recipe contest, food and drink specials, as well as giveaways and prizes for contest entrants. And don't miss what promises to be the most exiting event of the day, the Spam musubi-eating contest. Will anyone be able to break last year's world record of eight Spam musubi in three minutes set by local professional ultramarathoner Chikara Omine? He does competitive eating in his spare time, finishing fourth last month in L.A.'s gyoza-eating championship. Aloha! ![]()
