Last night's farmers' market happy hour was the usual sold-out fun, with an extra twist: We ended up on the drink-making side of the bar. As a collaborative effort with Aaron Gregory Smith of 15 Romolo, we served up a punch with fresh O'Henry peach juice, Encanto pisco, La Pinta pomegranate tequila, oolong tea, fresh pomegranate juice, and Mionetto prosecco.

Today's fun focuses on education during the day and entertainment in the evening for both the adult and kid in you. The first two sessions are all about the production and use of the components that go into your cocktail, with the second being a to help you make like a pro from old cocktail books -- and most importantly deciphering old units of measure.

The evening brings two very different and exciting events. Indulge your inner-child (the nerdy one) with a night filled with absinthe, circus performers (no, they aren't hallucinations), and debunking absinthe myths with scientist turned distiller Ted Breaux at the Academy of Sciences. If you prefer to indulge in vices like drinking and gambling, the Cocktail Lab crew's Ragtag Rabble Gaming Soirée at the Burritt Room will indulge you in old Barbary Coast decadence.
