The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Grub Street's Jay B. discovers that Mariachi's will shut down at some point in the near future. In its place: a third branch of the inexpensive sushi bar and Japanese restaurant Grandeho's Kamekyo (508 Valencia).

Paolo L. at Inside Scoop reports that Dominique and Marie-Jeanne Delanghe's Pacific Heights bakery, Patisserie Delanghe (1890 Fillmore, 923-0711), is set to close tomorrow. The Delanghes are retiring and have sold the business to an unnamed baker who will reopen as Fillmore Bake Shop.

Yesterday brought two openings (or reopenings, as the case may be): Plow and Trader Vic's

Marcia G. at Tablehopper has learned that chef Michelle Mah has left Midi.

Tablehopper also reports that a new Henry's Hunan branch is opening at 4753 Mission in the Excelsior, possibly in November, and that a new store called the Secret Wine Shop (1097 Howard, 625-3285, website with long URL) will start hosting tastings next week and plans to open to the public a few weeks later. SFoodie is intrigued by the store's $5 blind-tasting Mondays. We like challenges. Particularly cheap ones.
