The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Eater's Carolyn A. (via Agro Panhandler) learns of a former Beach Chalet staffer, Ivan Hopkinson, who hopes to take over 1785 Fulton and turn it into the Fulton Street Brewpub, with a mission similar to that of Magnolia. Hopkinson appears to be connected to something called Shipwreck Breweries.

Eater SF also reports that Spuntino (1957 Union, 931-6410, www.spuntinosf.com), the cheese-and-wine store attached to Ottimista Enoteca, has just gotten the permits to add a wine tasting bar.

Vegansaurus's Mrpenguino is thrilled to report that a Southern California chain of restaurants named Native Foods is opening a Bay Area branch. No word yet on the specific location -- the news broke via a Craigslist job posting.

Finally open: Per Grub Street, ICHI Sushi opened on Friday, while 7th Street Cafe opened at 525 Seventh St. And Haighteration reports that Ragazza (311 Divisadero) will be opening on Wednesday.

Paolo L. at Inside Scoop spots a liquor license application indicating that the owners of Frascati are taking over Iluna Basque (701 Union) and renaming it Campanula Kitchen and Bar. Just FYI: Iluna Basque hasn't shut yet.
