Paula Tejeda, Chile Lindo's embattled "Girl from Empanada," is among local merchants calling for a small business rally and press conference to highlight what they deem unfair targeting by disability lawyer Thomas Frankovich, who currently has more than 150 lawsuits filed locally on behalf of one plaintiff.

Tejeda closed her tiny Mission shop in mid-August, after Frankovich, representing wheelchair user Craig Yates, lodged a complaint against the empanada maker's landlords for lack of disability access. Chile Lindo reopened days later, but Tejeda wouldn't allow any customers into the shop.

The rally takes place tomorrow (Thurs., Sept. 9) at 4 p.m. the 24th Street BART station, 24th St. at Mission.
