The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Carolyn A. of Eater SF spots a liquor license announcement poster for a new business titled Black Sheep at 2032 Polk Street. The owners must not have read all the news stories about Alex Jackson (The Corner, Parada 22) trying to open a pub by the same name ― for, like six months to a year.

Grub Street Eater SF also reports that no news is still no news: the relocated Citizen Cake (2125 Fillmore, citizencake.com) is shy of opening. Facebook fans continue to leave eager/impatient notes, with no response from Elizabeth Falkner.

Paolo L. at Inside Scoop reports that Trader Vic's (9 Anchor Drive, Emeryville, 510-653-9384) is reopening Tues., Sept. 20, after a renovation. More tiki masks!
