The past 24 hours in S.F. restaurant gossip, puffery, and cold, hard facts.

At Vegansaurus, Megan Maria D! announces that Saturn Cafe, a Santa Cruz vegetarian diner, is opening a second location in Berkeley tomorrow (2175 Allston, 510-845-8505, www.saturncafe.com). The pitch: comfort food like nachos, burgers, and brunch ― all meatless ― served in Jetsons style. She also confirms that Cinnaholic (2132 Oxford St., cinnaholic.com), a vegan bakery, is opening nearby on the same day.

Carolyn A. at Eater SF has first crack at the announcement that the owners of Momo's and Pete's Tavern have sent more runners down the street, sprouting up as Pedro's Cantina (128 King, 896-5644, pedroscantina.com). The pitch: 8,500 square feet, innumerable TVs, margaritas, Mexican-esque food. Projected opening date: August 6.
Jay B. at Grub Street discovers a new restaurant in the Cannery: Flying Ninja (2801 Leavenworth, flyingninjaus.com). The pitch: sushi on-the-go. According to the website, this is a movement.
