Slow Opens Fast, Market and Sixth Corner Leaves Market and Sixth

From the anonymous elves at Thrillist, we learn that Kyle Anderson's Slow is opening in Berkeley next week (1966 University, 510-647-3663). The pitch: quick-serve restaurant from a Boulud-trained chef serving local, ethical food at good prices.
Jay B. from Grub Street reports that Market and Sixth Corner, the "Sweet & Sour Pork, Hof Brau, Lumpia, Burrito, Pizza, Spaghetti" restaurant, has decamped to Bayview and the space is now vacant. What with the disappearance of the Fascination parlor, SFoodie fears the neighborhood is going to seed.
And everyone's reporting that Pal's Takeaway (24th and Hampshire) is opening tomorrow for regular Saturday service. Finally: Your chance to try the pulled pork sandwich ― if it's on the menu that day, of course.
