The last 24 hours in rumor, innuendo, and straight-out facts about restaurant openings and closings in San Francisco.

Paolo L. at Inside Scoop finds out that Morimoto Napa (610 Main, Napa, 707-252-1600, www.morimotonapa.com) is set to open as soon as next week. The pitch: Iron Chef Morimoto's restaurant will serve Cal-Japanese food (such as a sea urchin carbonara with udon) using imported fish and local produce; apparently, house-brewed beer is in the works.

R. Hernandez from Mission Loc@l reports that The Sycamore (2140 Mission) is opening very soon after its predecessor closed down. The pitch: All that is known for now is that it will specialize in craft beers, sliders, and North Shore beef sandwiches.

Jay B. at Grub Street passes on two interesting bits of gossip. Number one: Una Pizza Napoletana (11th St. and Howard), from New York expat and renowned pizzaiolo Anthony Mangieri, may open in August. Number two: the Tyler Florence Group's culinary director, Jason Rose, has just quit, not a month after the Wayfare Tavern opened and just before the Tyler Florence Rotisserie is about to open. Drama is suspected.
