|Chicken curry special ($6.99). Whoa.|
Located just around the corner from the Powell Street station, or on the gateway to the Tandoorloin, Little
is one of the city's better Punjabi restaurants, with terra-cotta and gold walls, uniformed servers, and online ordering and delivery. Maybe we should have included a ruler or a pencil for scale here: Each of the restaurant's three giant lunch combos (also: veggie, $5.99; tandoori chicken, $7.99) is a Grand Slam of a meal, cheaper than a downtown burrito and twice as filling. You're not going to get off-menu, cooked-to-order dishes here, just a simple chicken curry, cardamom and cinnamon flashing out of its cloud of aromatics, and a deeply spiced, butter-bomb saag paneer. They come with puffy naan, its flipside shiny and brown from the tandoor, and enough rice to take home for tomorrow's lunch. Little Delhi
