A summary of the past 72 hours of rumor, innuendo, and straight-up facts about San Francisco restaurant openings and closings.

Carolyn A. at Eater SF is the first out of the gate to report that Skool (1725 Alameda, at De Haro, 255-8800, www.skoolsf.com) has opened for lunch today from a group of restaurateurs connected to Blowfish and Busha Tei. The pitch: sustainable seafood entrees and sandwiches, with a strong Japanese influence. Dinner and brunch to come.

Jay B. at Grub Street reports that Luna Taqueria (799 Bryant) has been bought out and will close up at the end of next month.

And Paolo L. at Inside Scoop discovers that, to everyone's surprise, Charles Phan didn't sell the Valencia Street building that housed the first incarnation of his Slanted Door when he moved to the Ferry Building in 2002. All these years later, in fact, he has announced that he has designs for the space, which he'll begin acting on this fall. SFoodie wishes we had bought property on Valencia Street a decade ago.
