Mark Andrew Gravel.
Pop-up restaurateur and artist Mark Andrew Gravel likes beans the way our grandmother liked martinis and canapes -- a lot, so much, in fact, that he might be single-handedly responsible for keeping Rancho Gordo's business robust. On Monday, June 28, he'll preach his legume-centric gospel at 18 Reasons, the Mission District's wee tabernacle at the intersection of thought and taste. The 18 Reasons table will creak beneath the weight of rice and beans, and the walls should shudder with the reverberations of good conversation.

Meatless Mondays: Artist's Perspective with Mark Andrew Gravel
Where: 18 Reasons, 593 Guerrero (at 18th St.), 241-9760
When: Mon., June 28, 7-9 p.m.
Cost: $10; purchase online via Brown Paper Tickets
