​My favorite bits from the blogs and beyond.

1. Michael Jackson, RIP. Who would have thought he'd live on in San Francisco foods?

2. I haven't been able to touch carrots or potatoes after watching this Japanese curry ad. I blame you, Andy Wright, for putting me on a bread-and-steak diet for the past few days. Slowly moving back into greens and other vegetables that don't require peeling.

​3. John Birdsall finds not one but two new food trucks: Senor Sisig, which delivers all things fried pork (or chicken or tofu), and Crispy Tacos SF, which delivers all things fried tortilla.

4. Andrew Simmons discovers that Lucca sells take-home pizza dough that bests Trader Joe's. The only problem: You have to get there before 6 p.m.

5. As the number of farmers' markets goes up, we're finding that the income for particular markets or stalls drops. It's time, a couple writers argued this week, to start gauging the limits of this expansion. Are farmers markets really better for farmers or for city dwellers? A couple of provocative articles.
