The biggest news of the day comes from Paolo L. of Inside Scoop, who discovers Humphry Slocombe is opening a bake shop and ice cream "parlour" at 300 20th St. (at Florida), home, eventually, of Flour + Water's Central Kitchen spinoff.

Humphry''s deliciously inked Jake Godby has expansion plans.
The pitch: Bigger room, later hours, a pastry shop. It's not clear from the post whether HS will be closing the first location, and a target date hasn't been set yet.

Mr. L. also reports that CAV, the Market Street wine bar whose food has, off and on, been as much a part of its appeal as its bottles, is dropping the idea of serving a full menu, leaving chef John Maher out of a job. CAV is going to focus on retail sales, competing more directly with Arlequin Wine Merchant, just a few blocks away.

Jay B. of Grub Street peruses the permits and discovers applications for a restaurant called Nico's Tacos (1310 Grant, at Vallejo). The pitch: It serves tacos.

Also: News keeps trickling in about Dennis Leary and his many, many new projects. Look for a précis of all known Leary intel early next week.
