Dynamo Donut Opens (Sorta) Secret Garden

Sweet: Herbs, sun tea, and doughnuts.
Dynamo quietly opened its back patio three weeks ago ― that means it's no longer necessary to hover at the sidewalk counter with your yeast doughnut and Four Barrel, or try to snag one of tables inside. Dynamo's Sara Spearin told us that Elisa Baier designed the garden: mostly edible herbs and flowers, with Baier-designed pots that Spearin said would be for sale. Dynamo partner Tim Moran designed and built the patio. He created the indoor space, too.

At 9:30 this morning, 16-seat patio was quiet, empty of other doughnut munchers. There are umbrellas and a bike rack; we spotted a jar of sun tea nestled on a table near the herb garden. A spy who has seen the space a few times reported that the sun-tea jar is a regular fixture.

"It's been pretty chill back there," Spearin said. "It still feels like it's a secret garden." Your secret is safe with us, Sara.
