Brooklyn chocolatier (and maker of vanilla products) Madécasse, looking for more visibility and wholesale accounts in this discerning chocolate-lovers' market, will host a free tasting in San Francisco next week at HubSoMa. It'll be a rare opportunity to taste artisan products made with cacao beans from Madagascar, where founders Brett Beach and Tim McCollum served in the Peace Corps and got the idea to build a sustainable business that helped the locals. They'll also offer nibbles of new creations, such as a bar made with dark chocolate, sea salt, and cocoa nibs.

Madécasse Chocolate Tasting
When: Thurs., Jun. 10, 7-9 p.m.
Where: Hub SoMa, 901 Mission (at Fifth St.)
Cost: Free
Reservations: Advance RSVP required
