Winemakers Pouring Into S.F. Next Month for Golden Glass
Clear your calendar, Slow Food-slash-wine geeks: the Golden Glass is due next month. This is the seventh year for the swirl of sustainable grapes and noshes, the primary fundraiser for Slow Food San Francisco and its focus on school gardens and school lunch. This year's Golden Glass is expected to attract 100 sustainable wine producers from abroad, all with an interest in keeping alive or reviving the indigenous varieties of their regions. Nibbles from local restaurants and other artisanal producers, though the vendor list is TBA. There are a handful of winemaker dinners happening June 10 and 11 in advance of the main event June 12 at Fort Mason. Info is currently online for the June Acquerello Teramo Italy dinner on June 11, where $100 yields dinner and a wine pairing. Details on scoring advance tickets after the jump.![]()
