Macao Friends Shutters; No Word on Restaurant's Fate

​Macao Friends, a Chinese-Portuguese restaurant at 2240 Irving (at 24th Ave.) that we recently raved about, has suddenly closed. A handwritten sign in the window reads "under construction," while an official notice details that the build-out will take the next two months and block out the parking meters in front of the restaurant.

No word yet on whether the space has changed hands, or if the current owner is doing some sprucing up. We hope it's the latter.
