CUESA is sponsoring a tent that will house a series of cooking competitions for the "Urban Eats" program on the last day of the Giants County Fair (Sun., June 20, at AT&T Park). Urban farmers and cooks can choose among seven different contests, including local/seasonal fruit pies, locally sourced and preserved foods, home-raised hen eggs, home food gardening, and home-extracted honey. The adult category is open to those 18 and over, while the junior category serves ages 9 through 17. Rules, sample scorecards, and applications are located on the CUESA website. Don't dilly or dally, though, as the deadline is at 5 p.m. on Fri., June 4.
