Former tenant Jack Falstaff never quite knew what to do with the lobby-like corner patio here, but Ozone seems to have it figured out. Weekdays starting at noon, you can score a to-go rice-plate lunch: two choices fished out of chafing dishes, saucy rations of yellow curry and sweet basil tofu butting up against a huge slab of jasmine for $6. Get there much after 1 p.m. (the chafing-dish setup ends at 2), and you might encounter limited choices and a stressed-out server running frantic messages to the kitchen to send backups. Be patient and you're bound to get something.

Ozone Thai 598 Second St. (at Brannan), 536-3266; patio service weekdays noon-2 p.m.
