OTD's notably dense steamed bao are big as pumped-up sliders ― eat the pair pictured here, and you can forget about those mid-afternoon snickerdoodle cravings. The vegetarian version offers up a dark tangle of wood ears and other mushrooms, spongy and crunchy-soft, with a thrillingly dank fungus taste. The chicken? Neat cubelets warm with ginger, the yang to the veggie bun's yin. At $6 for both, they might just be the cheapest way to fill up in the Ferry Building.
