Slow Food S.F. Kicks Off Ingredient Series with Chile Tasting
Masochistic chile-heads take note: On April 13, Slow Food San Francisco is kicking off a new series called ― rather unimaginatively ― Pantry Item Tastings. In this inaugural installment, the "item" at issue is the hot pepper. If you drown eggs in half-cups of Inner Beauty, but don't know know an ancho from an arbol, this tutorial might be helpful. It's going down at Charanga restaurant (home to new chefs David Leland and Valerie Hemstreet, according to Eater), where after the lesson, chefs will churn out a six-course tasting menu featuring the six chiles previously discussed.![]()
