IACP Announces 2010 Cookbook Award Winners

The International Association of Culinary Professionals is currently having its annual conference in Portland, where the city's best restaurants are being raided by thousands of ravenous, overly discerning food writers. We offer our condolences to the PDX police officers who spent last night breaking up bar brawls over brownie recipes, and hope that today's "urban distilleries" tour doesn't result in death or comments someone really wishes she could take back.

Last night was the awards gala, and we're sorry to report that SFoodie, which was up for a "best blog" award this year, lost out to the enormously talented Hank Shaw of Hunter Angler Gardener Cook. A few Bay Area notables, though, walked away with cookbook awards:

Category: Chefs and Restaurants
Ad Hoc at Home, by Thomas Keller and Dave Cruz

Category: Children, Youth & Family
Williams-Sonoma at Home, Maria Helm Sinskey

Category: Health & Special Diet
The Cancer-Fighting Cookbook by Rebecca Katz and Mat Edelson

The Cancer-Fighting Cookbook also won this year's people's choice award. Congratulations to all!
