A Winery ― on Treasure Island? Taste for Yourself This Saturday

One of the island's few urban wineries, VIE, sells its wines through Winery Collective, a collective tasting room near Fisherman's Wharf. Warehouse mate Treasure Island Wines, owned by brothers Paul and James Mirowski, has built its brand on the island location; the winery's logo is crossed pirate swords (get it?).
Treasure Island Wines' tasting room is open most weekend afternoons from 1 to 5 p.m. This Saturday, the Mirowskis are staging a grander tasting event, pouring seven or so varietals (the grapes are grown elsewhere, FYI) and pairing their wines with food from nigh-neighbor Monica Hobbs Catering, which is in the process of renovating the Nimitz Mansion on Yerba Buena Island. If you find yourself taken with the romance of pressing grapes on the old naval base, Treasure Island Wines offers custom crush and winemaking services to startup wineries.
