Yats owner Yon Davis sells a lot of Cajun-style deep-fried turkeys for Thanksgiving, even hosting an "open fryer" setup for people to fry their own birds in, the culinary equivalent of operating a shooting range ― a safe, controlled environment to help customers achieve one of America's most dangerous culinary feats.

This Easter (April 4), Davis is selling deep-fried turkeys again. For $99, you can purchase a turkey platter that should serve at least six ― a 15-pound bird (it's not free-range, sorry), marinated in Creole spices and then fried, as well as smothered okra, dirty rice, and corn bread. You can also buy just the turkey for $54, or add on New Orleans classics like red beans and rice, gumbo, or bread pudding.

The deadline to order a meal is Good Friday, April 2. Check Yats' Easter catering menu for details and prices, or call Davis at (504) 231-8612.
