Number 42: Rotisserie Chicken from Goood Frikin' Chicken

You might never know it from the name, but Goood Frikin' Chicken is an Eastern Mediterranean bird joint that gives the oft-massacred chicken entrée its primal due. GFC offers half and whole chickens, à la carte or as part of a whole meal. After you decide that, there's the question about which marinade and cooking method to settle on. This can be tricky. The mouthwatering dilemma comes down to herby (slow-cooked over an open flame) or zesty-garlicky-lemony (rotisserie). The golden brown skin of the rotisserie chicken ($19.95 for a complete meal with olive oil pita bread, garlic dip, green salad, and one side) slightly edges out the open-flame version in our opinion, since the flavors are more complex. But you can't go wrong ordering either (boneless chicken eaters, however, need not apply). Break off a piece of pita, slather it with garlicky dip, and add a chunk of juicy chicken with crisp skin topper. Before you know it, you'll have greasy hands and flecks of chicken on your fingers ― your cleavage, too, if you aren't careful. At least the dining room is comfortably expansive, which makes you feel almost okay about getting grubby. If you're self-conscious, you can always tell your date to look at something outside on the street, as you sneak licks of your fingers. We'll never tell.
