Chef Annie Somerville to Be Honored During Greens' 30-Year Anniversary Bash
Like fickle frogs on the lookout for loftier lily pads, chefs often hop from restaurant to restaurant. Not Annie Somerville. She's been working the stoves at Greens for nearly every one of the restaurant's 30 years. On April 10, she will be honored at a party simultaneously benefiting a variety of Zen Center efforts (San Francisco Zen Center owns Greens), including the farm apprenticeship program. Hopefully, she'll get a gold-plated whisk for her decades of service. The Greens staff will prepare sweet and savory bites to pair with locally sourced organic and biodynamic wines and live jazz. Huey Johnson, founder and president of the Resource Renewal Institute, and cookbook scribe and founding Greens chef Deborah Madison will give the keynote address. Event details after the jump.
