15 Romolo's Amazona: A Hint of Brazil in North Beach

15 Romolo is known for its upscale carnival eating and good, strong drinks. It's perfect weather for drinking exotic. The Amazona (Sagatiba Velha cachaça, coconut milk, ginger, lime, Angostura bitters, and nutmeg) skews Brazilian, with a present-danger air of extinction (due to recent Angostura shortages) that appeals to us. Cachaça, of course, is made from sugarcane, and it's a deadly combo with the cocktail's other sweet-tart actionables. We had to remind ourselves to sip slowly, as if on vacation.
