The Venezuelan arepa maker currently operates at Napa's Oxbow Market.
Rumors are swirling that Pica Pica Maize Kitchen is branching out from its original base at Napa's Oxbow Public Market to the Mission. SFoodie's source puts the spinoff of the Venezuelan arepa maker somewhere near Mission and 17th Street, but a Pica Pica spokeswoman wouldn't confirm that. S.F. isn't exactly terra incognita for the company, which showed up last year at the Folsom Street and Castro Street fairs, Bay to Breakers, and Carnaval. Besides stuffed arepas, Pica-Pica offers cachapas, filled corn pancakes, and a cornbread grilled cheese it calls the Maize'Wich. We'll let you know when and where they surface.
