This is exactly what you think it is.

On Wednesday, in the course of an ordinary day's reporting around town, SF Weekly obtained two vials of Vigorex Instant Energy™, which contained 20 "mega wafers" of aphrodisiac candy.

The active ingredient of this homeopathic remedy is Avena sativa, which turns out to be  oats. Like, oatmeal oats.

Oats remove cholesterol, and/or pants.

Our favorite herbal resource, the Internet, suggests that Avena sativa will help you to "sow your wild oats" by reducing performance anxiety and increasing your energy levels. It's good for both men and women, and it comes in three flavors: cherry, caspberry, and crape. The family relationship of Avena sativa to another plant, Cannabis sativa, is unclear to us at the moment. (Any botanists out there?)

Where this candy came from is a story we'll reveal later. And we're pretty sure this stuff is no longer on the market (it looks pretty old). But rest assured, a member of our staff will be testing Vigorex™ and reporting back soon.
