​Wood Tavern owner Rich Wood offered more details about emerging plans to annex the shuttered Lulu Rae space next door on College Avenue. If the Oakland zoning gods smile on the project, Wood Tavern's smaller, 25-seat brother might be able to launch by late spring or early summer. The concept? Wood Tavern's mini-me. "If what we have now is a tavern, then the new place will be a pub," he said. "A little faster, a little smaller, a little more casual: a quick bite, a quick glass of wine, and you're out the door." Too early to talk names, Wood said, though he could say that current WT (and ex-Scala's) chef Maximilian DiMare will oversee food at the new place.
